Books Read in 2017

This past year has been a slow year when it came to blogging.  One of the reasons was I spent a lot more time reading.  So this year, instead of sharing the top recipes of 2017, I'll be sharing what I read in 2017.  If you are interested in the top recipes of 2017, let me know in the comments!

I have always loved reading but after having kids, it was hard to find the time.  The kids are a little older now, so I've been trying to squeeze time in whenever I can to read which basically means that if I am waiting for something...doctor appointments, after school activities..I've got a book with me.

There were a couple of books I didn't finish (haven't included them above), there were some that were not so great but there were some pretty amazing ones in there.  My favourites were Reclaim Your Heart by Yasmin Mogahed, Mornings In Jenin by Susan Abulhawa and Born A Crime by Trevor Noah.  Charlotte's Web may seem unusual among the bunch.  I had never read it before and my youngest was reading it in class.  So I thought I would join him and maybe we could have our own little bookclub!  Wonder and The Invention of Hugo Cabret were books I made my eldest son read as well.  I love to discuss with the books with him and get him exposed to books he wouldn't pick up on his own.

Let me know in the comments what you have read this past year or if you have any book recommendations!

  1. I've been meaning to go back and re-read Charlotte's Web. I read it once as a child, but I don't remember very much about it.

    1. I never read it as a kid. My son's teacher was reading it in class so I thought it would be fun to read and discuss with him!
